As a new mac owner I am still figuring out all the alternatives to the programs I used to use on PC, one which has so far eluded me being a program to batch edit photos for the web.

Previously I used a program called Faststone resizer, which let me resize photos to web resolution, and add a frame to the image. So far I can resize the images easily as a batch through the automator tool, but I have not yet picked up a tool to do the framing.

Is there any standalone alternative to faststone, or any way of adding the extra functionality to automator?

cheers for that one, will give it a bash.

Any other options? I am running the GIMP as an image editor - is it possible to create some workflow there to do what I need?
