Mac OS X is my system. I am having a strange problem. When my battery is fully charged it says 99% and the light is still orange. But when I unplug it it says 100%. Will this affect he battery if it's 100% but the charger thinks it's still at 99%? Is there any fix for this?

I got a new battery because my old one was crap. So, the battery is fine.

Any comments or suggustions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I called apple and he told me to shut my computer off, take the batter out. Then hold the power button. Put the battery back in and start it up. Hold the keys. Command + Alt + R + P. I did as he said then started up my computer, but this didn't fix it.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Wrong forum, but this is normal behavior.

The battery will only charge if you plug it in when its below 95%, otherwise, it wont charge any further to maintain battery health.

But if its a brand new battery, make sure you condition it per Apple's guidelines (posted on its website).

Was just thinking about that, the fourm when I checked this. Sorry about that. Thanks I'll see if it works right. I'm at 61% now.
