On my classic MBP, which is approx. one year old, I had a "Service Battery" notice when I clicked on the battery icon last night as it was almost out of power. When I plugged it into the wall for some A/C, it still had the message while it was charging.
When I checked coconut battery app, it came up with this info:
Current Capacity: 4366
Original Capacity: 5600
77%
Battery Load Cycles: 44
Age of your Mac: 14 months
That doesn't seem like the battery is aging correctly, does it? I made an appointment to take it into the local Apple Store since it is under AppleCare.
This laptop typically stays plugged into the wall with occasional times taking it outside and using the battery but I've done about 3-4 battery calibrations, usually every few months and did one the other night.
So, I'm stumped. Hopefully they'll look at coconut battery and give me a new battery.
