I hate how messy all the cables and wires running to my battery backup looks. It sits next to my desk on the floor in between my printer stand and desk. There is a small door compartment on the bottom of the printer stand that the battery backup would fit in nicely. I could take the door off and remove the back panel so it would be open on both ends for ventilation. Is it safe to keep a battery backup in a cabinet? It wouldn't totally be closed it, just on the top and sides. The front and back would be open. Anyone else do this? Safe or not? Heres a pic of the area I'm talking about. Thanks

They need good ventilation, they can run pretty hot when charging and discharging. I tuck mine away in a corner at 45 degrees to the corner, but I have a corner desk setup and it cannot be seen. If that was open front and back it should be ok, just don't put it up against the wooden edge. I'm no expert, so if it bursts into flames, don't blame me :D
