Just to show that Apple will replace a battery, I thought that I would make this post.
In the screenshot of the Saved Data, you can see that my old battery (received from Apple as a replacement in May '07, ~140 cycles) had been acting weird for almost a month (62% health to 90% health to 49% health). Besides that, I also noticed that the aluminum casing was ever so slightly pealing away (could have been from bulging, but I think it was just bad glue due to extra heat).
Took it in to the Apple store today and they ran their battery check thingy from an 4G iPod Nano. The test said that it was A-OK, but the genius took my word for the battery acting up...didn't even ask to see the data.
I am in the process of calibrating the battery now. Before the full charge (to 100%) that I just finished, the capacity was ~6700 mAh...400 mAh over. Now I am at the 6907 mAh that is showing...600 mAh over!
So, long story short, if your battery is acting weird in any way, and you have Applecare. Take it to the closest Apple store or give Apple a call, a new battery is likely coming your way.
