I bought a refurbished Macbook Pro (specs in signature) a few days ago and firstly checked the number of cycles on the battery, and this number was at 13. Since then I've added 3 more cycles to the battery bringing the total to 16.

My question is, how often in terms of time or number of cycles should I be calibrating my battery?

You only need to calibrate the battery if you notice it going into deep sleep with, say, 10% charge remaining. This suggests your computer needs to re-establish the zero reference point so the reading is 0% or 1% charge remaining before entering deep sleep.

Okay. I've been told in the past that every 3 - 6 months I should be calibrating batteries to get the most out of them. Guess not...
