iPhone SE (2016) Battery Comparison: iPhone 8 (iPhone SE 2020) vs iPhone XS

Hi,

how does the iPhone 8 perform Battery-wise against the iPhone XS? Can't decide between the iPhone XS and the iPhone SE (2020), and since the iPhone SE (2020) has the same battery performance as the iPhone 8 (Apple says so) I would like to know how long the iPhone 8 lasts in comparison to the iPhone XS. Apple claims the iPhone X(S) lasts longer than the iPhone 8, but some users say it is the other way around. What are your experiences?
 
I've had both of them (both on iOS 12, though, don't know about iOS 13 performance). My previous phone was the 8 and my current phone is the XS. Battery on the XS is better. Not "night and day" better but better. With the iPhone 8 I was always under 20% after a whole day of use, but I can normally use the XS for a whole day without problems.

I was actually waiting for the SE 2 release to see if they improved the battery (I prefer smaller phones) but let's see if A13 chip + LCD and not OLED results in better battery life than iPhone 8 (Apple says its similar, so...). I'm waiting for proper reviews next week but I guess I'll be keeping my XS, it's a great phone if you don't mind bigger phones.

I am starting to sound like a broken record, but Apple battery case support on the se would be huge.
 
@peterpayne Thanks! I like smaller phones so it is a tough decision. Sold my iPhone 6 after half a year to get the old SE, cause I could not stand the size of the 6. With the XS there is also the weight issue, but better battery is important.

I don't think anyone can say for certain how the battery will be. The original SE battery was way better than Apple's claims.

Since this has a similar form factor to the 8, I'd imagine the iPhone 8 battery case would fit the SE2. I already own the battery case and will be trying it on as soon as my SE2 arrives.

iphone 7/8 battery cases will probably be compatible with the SE2 but i think the wireless charging wont work with it.
