Battery Cycle Question

Anyone know where the cycle count data is stored for an apple laptop battery? Is it on the computer or in the battery?

Essentially my question is if a battery has X number of cycles on one computer, will that same number appear if put in another computer. I am referring to a removable battery (yes, batteries were once removable )

Found the answer with some digging.

Cycle count is stored in the battery.
