Hey guys,

Got myself a used 2014 Macbook Air about 5 months ago.
Can't fully remember the battery cycle when I bought it, but it is now at 152 cycles.

When I checked both Battery Health and Coconut its has the battery at under 80%.

Does that seem low to you? I remember reading that Apple said after 1000 cycles it should be at 80%.

As a side note, the other day I powered it on and it said 40% battery. It then instantly powered off and when I hit the power button it said I needed to connect it to the AC charger.

When I did so it instantly said the battery was 40% again.

Problem?

Sounds like either the battery is going out or it's not well calibrated but, in any case, the battery is 4 years old. If it was stored improperly then it's very possible it has lost that much capacity.
