New user here. My battery shows the %, but in windows it also says "7 hours 44 minutes remaining" also... Can you enable this somewhere that I can't find (been looking)

I'm running this beside a Dell XPS 13" (mine is MBP 13 2019) and the Dell battery is crazy. at 82% it said 12 hours 44 minutes... Not sure this one is close to that but would like to see somehow

I believe they removed that feature a while ago. You can try to Option-Click the battery icon and it might still be hidden in there. Or from Activity Monitor you can get the info. But it’s pretty loosey-goosey at best it would seem, and I think that’s why it became an issue. People don’t necessarily continue to use their devices in the exact same fashion over a longer time period.

if you spend 4 hours with light web browsing and it says you have 4 hours left, then you fire up a heavy game, you’re not going to get 4 more hours, and that’s apparently not obvious enough. :D

Apple removed that feature a while ago, somewhen in late 2016 or early 2017 when reports starting popping up left and right about the new MacBook Pro's abysmal battery life. So, in order to avoid what Apple considered unwarranted misrepresentation of what Apple considered the greatest laptop of all times they simply removed that feature as part of a minor Sierra update and called it a day.
