Battery does not recover after calibration.

I find that as i use my battery, the max capacity goes down as well as the current capacity. I don't know why it would be doing it, but it does. Then, after i drain my battery all the way down, and then plug it in to charge, it doesn't go all the way back up. I find i have to let it charge, then use it a bit, and then the max capacity goes back up again, and i can charge to full capacity. I've gone past the warranty, but is this something that any of you have experienced.
