Sorry, simple question, I live in an area with a very weak 3G signal, I have an iPhone 4, it the battery seems to drain very quickly, based on the usage today, I might get 4.5 hours of total 3G data usage.

So my question is, does the phone use more power when the signal is weak?

Thanks

yes i think so...

in the office i have weak signal -and with any data usage over 3g i can see the battery draining like crazy - up to 1% for 2 minutes or so.

Yes, definitely, weak to no signal makes the phone work harder in searching for signals and drains the battery quicker in the process.
