Hi all,

My MBA 2020 (Intel) is draining battery charge when shut down (not sleeping) from 100% to 77%. Is this expected/normal?

I haven't had need to use it much over the Xmas period. Checking the battery stats shows the attached.

Is there an log of startup/shutdown operations (like the Windows event log) to check that I did actually shut it down?

Thanks,
Neil.

Go to Terminal and type in uptime, it will report something like this

11:53 up 2 days, 33 mins, 2 users, load averages: 1.37 1.39 1.51

Don't be concerned by two users, one is you and one is system.

Thanks. Uptime reports as:

19:40 up 4:24, 2 users, load averages: 11.40 4.71 3.35

Which is about right for switching it on earlier today, using it for about an hour and the MBA sleeping the rest of the the time.

Yup. Something isn’t right. When it is off, it should be off with zero drain.

Thanks.

Any recommendations for any tests, etc I can run? (Sorry, I am brand new to Mac and a bit in the dark about diagnostics available). Or best to just log a case with Apple Support?
