I will preface this with the following, I bought a used apple watch series 2 yesterday; and it has been 2 years since I last had an apple watch, so Im not sure what affects battery life or not. I was hoping you all could shed some light as to which part of this Im doing wrong, or if I should take it to apple to inspect for battery problems.

-I left the watch charging all night, loading music onto it.
-Today, I woke up, put on my watch, connected my airpods and started listening to music (this will be playing for the entire 2 hours).
-I was working out and left my phone in the car, so 1.5hrs the watch was disconnected from the phone.
-I started the 'workout' app half an hour into my workout and kept it running.
-An hour after my workout started, I got the 10% remaining warning, and I was very disappointed to see that...
-Several minutes later it just shut down (or went into the power reserve mode).
It should be mentioned that there is no wifi at the gym, and thus I wasnt connected to that.
Also my brightness was at the lowest setting possible and running OS 4.0

Upon charging my watch again to inspect it, I did notice the maps app was open (or I guess on the recently used screen - dont know if they run in the background) and my location services on. I figured this was one of the main reasons for battery drain, but Im unsure if its the only cause of it as I dont know how important the phone connection is with respect to battery life.

Are there any obvious signs of where the battery drain is coming from? Is there a 'battery usage' page on the watch (like on the iPhone) to see what is eating up the juice?
