13 inch Macbook Pro - Late 2013
Has anyone else had any issues with the battery on a macbook pro draining really fast after having their screens replaced?
The lamination on my screen recently started to come off and I took it to Apple for repairs. They agreed to replace the screen and cover the cost under one of their programmes as it's a common issue among the 2013 MBPs.
Once I got my Macbook back, I started using it like I normally do - just browsing and emails. I noticed that the battery was draining really quickly (around 1% per minute) - "that's fine" I thought, as maybe dropbox was updating or something. But when everything had finished updating, the battery was still draining really fast even when idle. If I closed the lid, it would continue to drain.
I checked activity monitor for programs that were using a lot of CPU etc.. I use chrome so that was top of the list - but this is normal, it is usually top of the list but the battery doesn't normally drain this fast (I use lightroom and I'm a computer science student and even those programs don't drain it this fast).
Today, I let the battery drain and when I started my macbook up it said "macOS could not be installed on your computer" (this has never happened before) and I had to restart it again. It's a bit better now, but the battery still drains faster than it did before the repair.
Does anyone know if it's likely due to the repair (because they skipped something out during the repair/setup)? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated!
