Hi,

I flew to Abu Dhabi the other day and it appears that during my flight the battery in my MacBook Pro 17" has exploded.

I had the left the computer sleeping after having used it on the plane and when I took it out of the sleeve in my hotel this morning I noticed that the laptop was wobbling on the desk. After closer inspection I saw that the metal plate on the inside part of the battery had been pushed out by the inside which had expanded.

As a result one of the little knobs which holds the battery in place has broken through its holder.

Has anyone heard of this happening before and do you think this will be covered by my AppleCare?

Thanks,

Andrew

Apple provide an exchange program if this happens to your battery - take it into an Apple store and they will replace it for you.

It hasn't exploded or you'd be dead but its expanded. Well known issue, Apple should replace it for you, but sometimes if the computers over two years old they wont.
