battery for Al PB (old and new version)

I checked the specs on PB at Apple web site. It showed:

New PB (just released recently): 50-watt-hour lithium-ion battery (with integrated charge indicator LEDs) providing up to 4.5 hours of battery life (15-inch models)

Previous 15 inch Al PB (FW 800 vesion): 46-watt-hour lithium-ion battery (with integrated charge indicator LEDs) providing up to 4.5 hours of battery life

Both versions support 65W power adapter with cable management system.

So, if you have extra batter you bought for previous 15 inch Al PB (FW 800), can you use it for this revised Al PB (15 inch)?

Yes, you can use it. You'll just get about 8% less runtime on the older battery.
And before someone else asks, yes you can use the newer batteries on the older AlBooks as well and get slightly longer runtimes compared to the original battery.

I debate every so often about getting a second battery. I might actually do that if Apple releases a battery that has at least 15-20% more capacity that I can use.
