Hello all from Portugal.

I know there's already topics about this.

I have a early 2011 MacBook Pro. I already upgrade to 8g ram and ssd evo pro 250gb.

My battery last almost 3 hours and I had go to a Apple Store to replace it but they ask me 179€ for the battery because the oem battery can damage the logic board.

I have read on the forum that the only oem battery to buy for replacing my self is from MP.

I have found a site selling about 65€.

What do I do?

From your experience and because it's a old computer do I have to stick from Apple or no?

Thanks a lots for helping me

The batteries from OWC are pretty good, bud definitely more pricy.

You can take a gamble on cheap batteries, but if the perform poorly in a few months, then you just wasted your money.

I see also from OWC. Around 100€.
But there's people saying they last only one year and some gets problem like swell up.

If cause there can be problems. Even batteries from Apple are well know to swell up.

It's anecdotal evidence, but I have recommend batteries from OWC for years and haven't heard any complains.
