Wouldn't it be great if the battery glance on the watch also showed the battery of the phone? seems like a simple enough tweak they could throw in there, as well as a shortcut for putting the phone on power saving mode straight form the watch.

There is a separate app for that which installs on the watch and even allows you to add a glance called Low Battery. I think it's free on the App Store.
