I got my MBA in mid February. My battery health is down to 55%, after 186 charging cycles. My full charge capacity is down to 2816 mAh, from the original 5200 mAh. The condition is listed as "Check battery." I did a calibration last night, which didn't help anything. Is this normal? Anyone else have similar figures?

Ouch that's brutal.

I have 145 cycles and i'm still at 96%. I do a calibration about every month or two. Gen 1 btw. Also i find that every once in a while it will dip to as low as 93% but that keeping it on the charger for a day or so straight brings it right back up. Goodluck!

I will bring it in to the Apple Store. Maybe I will get a new battery under warranty.

Battery is now 100%. I just got back from the Apple store. They replaced my battery under warranty. Their diagnostics program immediately showed a problem with my battery.

I've had batteries go prematurely bad like that a couple of times in the past, and Apple has always been very good about replacing them under warranty.

^ Yea, I remember during the "Sony's Exploding Battery" era in 2006 or so, Apple called me about getting my battery exchanged since most iBook G4s had the Sony battery that was overheating and blowing up on people. In fact, my battery wasn't defected but still Apple bothered to call me. That is quality service, I was also out of AppleCare too, being over 1 year.

Sorry this is late but yea something is wrong with your battery.

Here are mines.
