Ok, here's the deal, for whatever reason, my macbook, 6 months old, is having problems. It recognizes the battery when it's in, but not when it's charging, and in fact cannot calculate how long until it's fully charged. It also says that it's 64% charged with 53 hours and 41 minutes until it runs out of juice. Sadly, not true. I've reseated the battery, reset the PMU and the PRAM, to no avail. help!!!

Is there an Apple store near you? If so take it there. If it is a bad battery they will replace it. If there is no store near you I'd call Apple care and ask them to send you a replacement.

Have you tried calibrating the battery?

calibrating involves charging it up all the way and then running it down all the way - of which i can know neither. I have left it charging overnight and then run it down and then charged it back up and such per the calibration instructions - no dice. I'm going on a road trip today, i'll stop at an apple store. Hopefully it's just the battery...
