Hi,

I am really  I bought my new mac approx. 1 week before. Back then the battery took sometime to get fully charged and the battery stat. was 100% But then, though the power cable was always plugged-in, battery started to go down by 1% in every two days. At first it was 99%, then 98% and now it´s 96%.

I have always my cable plugged in. What could cause this? And i shut down my mac properly...

That's normal. The battery drains slowly even if the computer is plugged in. It will charge back up once it hits 95% in order not to waste charging cycles.

This!

It's a safe guard so that your battery doesn't get over charged.
