My 32GB 3rd Gen Ipod Touch will work when it is connected to the charger on my compute or to a charger in my vehicle but once I take it off the charger it will only stay on for about 5 minutes then shows that the battery has drained. Any ideas on what may cause that or what I should do. I mean I know that can take to apple store and try to get help with it there but didn't want to have to drive an hour if there is some easy fix that someone knows of. Thanks for any help.

Has it been exposed to any water? If not, then you might want to put it in DFU mode and then restore it and see if that helps.
