Since updating my MacBookPro11,1 (i7, 3 GHz, 16 GB) a few days ago, I see terrible battery usage. Usually I can go for hours on 20-30%, but today it has taken a mere 1 hour to use 40%. Nothing major running on the MacBook; Outlook, Firefox, Excel), nothing external connected, and no heavy calculations.

Is it my MacBook, or an OSX Beta thing? Anyone?

Might be a beta issue but could be just re-indexing your drive for Spotlight.

Have a look in Activity Monitor and it should tell you...

Did that, and nothing is taking any significant energy, except for perhaps com.avast.secureline.com, and that's normal, and has been doing it for months now.

Ew. El Cap has been one of the sloppiest OS releases, IMO, other than Mavericks. I understand it's a beta, but there's a major thread about systemwide OS crashes for 10.11.4, and numerous other issues with pretty much every point iteration update of El Cap. Just my opinion, and hopefully Apple will catch this one before worldwide distribution of the 10.11.5 update (and installer).
