Hi guys,

I need your help to fix some issues i have with my new MBP 13" 2019 (bought it like 1 month ago)

I've done only 5 cycles but the battery has some serious issues.
The battery is going down while the mac is sleeping, i've lost like 15% during the night, which is absolutely too much. I've seen other threads here and there about that issue, so i know i'm not alone, but i'd like your help to fix this.

I opened the monitor in the energy section to see if any apps is preventing the mpb to go into sleep mode, but nop.

I also tried to turn the hibernate mode 25 on, it didn't solved the problem.
Of course i turned off power nap and other little things we can find on the internet to optimize the batterylife (like turning on the screen low light while using it on battery etc..)

One thing i don't know is, does it change something to close the mpb immediately rather than select sleep mode (with touch bar for exemple) and then close the screen ? (i've tried both, i don't see any changes..)

Anyway, i really hope it's not some kind of hardware issue like a batterygate or something similar, as Apple made us used to stupid issues on their devices :(

Thanks for reading, hope we'll find a fix for the people concerned !

English is not my native language, so i hope i made myself clear, sorry for the mistakes.

welcome to the club. the same issue with the same model. )))

go to the terminal and type:

sudo pmset -b tcpkeepalive 0

he'll ask you for the password. after that your Mac will sleep well but this command shut off *find my Mac* and automatic updater in sleep mode.

I did the same and now wait for the next OS. I hope they fix it.

Remember. if you press *reset to default* in power settings everything will back to default

Thanks for the answer bro.

How do you know it’s not hardware issue ? Maybe 6 months later we’ll found out thanks to the guys from ifixit or whatever else that it has a hardware issue or something ?

we'll see ,but I'm sure this is software bug. you'll see that after you turn off this function your MAC will eat 1% per night

Thanks bro, I put the line into the terminal, now the Mac is sleeping for few hours and we’ll see (talking about it like a pet aha)

I understand what it was on my MPB: *Find My Mac* - option. I turn it off and everything works well.
I'll check it tonight but I'm 99% sure.

I tried anyway, I’ll see tomorrow. But I’m afraid it might not work because I already had find my Mac turned off (since the first days I got the mbp)

I forgot to mention that OneDrive is always running on my it (but in the monitor it’s mentioned it’s doesnt prevent the Mac to sleep)

And yesterday strange experience.
I was on my MacBook with around 10 tabs on safari , monitor and OneDrive . The temperature went to 100 Celsius degrees (wtf) and the fans at 6500 rpm (I used Mac fan control to know)

Someone know why ?

One drive will wake up ever once in while. I never run it unless I need to sync.

If you fans are running and the CPU is hot some process is using a lot of cycles. What does System Monitor show on the CPU tab (sort in descending %)?

Could be something place you navigated to, One Drive, or something completely different. Only by checking will you know.
