Hi guys. Random information online which has helped diagnose but still not a clue what's happening.

I've got a Macbook Pro 13" mid-2010 unibody. Bought a cheapo battery on ebay (3rd one, no issues with the previous 2). Downloaded an app called Coconut Battery and my laptop is charging at about 9.2 watts and discharging at the same rate. It's taken about an hour to charge to 20%, and before that it took less than an hour to get from 75% to 0%. I've reset the SMC and PRAM.

Prior to this I had no issues with charging speed with the last battery. It eventually failed but didn't swell or anything, just wasn't holding a charge any more.

I'm unsure as to what is causing this. I have a 60w charger which is also a generic brand. What possible reasons could there be for slow charging and fast draining, and does this charge wattage seem ok?

Thanks.

Just and update but the wattage changes every time I unplug it and plug it back in. If it's in sleep mode it'll charge about 7.3 watts. Weird.
