Hi all,

So yeah, I bought my 13" MacBook Pro from the Apple Store a little over a month ago, and am still extremely impressed by the huge battery life. The battery life indicator, however, is another story entirely. The projected times it provides me with are very inconsistent and erratic, rarely giving an accurate number when I have between 20% and 80% charge remaining, usually projecting no more than two hours remaining. While working off the percentage alone isn't a problem, it's just bugging me that my otherwise pristine laptop is making such a simple error. So my question is:

A) Is there any reason I might be getting such erratic results?
B) Is there any way of remedying this?
C) Are there any applications out there that provide more accurate/detailed information on my machine's battery life?

Any help would be greatly appreciated [=

Calibrate it, and also, the time is just an estimate based on the current load on the computer, more load = less battery life.

How do you know it's incorrect?

You can have a fully charged battery and display 2:00 of runtime. How?

-Full Brightness
-Wifi
-Bluetooth
-Active CPU / High Voltage
-External Accessories particularly external hard drives, iPhones, iPods etc.

Perhaps something is pegging your CPU and you don't realize it. Ask the activity manager.

GGJstudios will post the Apple Notebook Battery FAQ any minute now ;)

Calibrate your battery. Follow the instructions in the link in the previous posts.
