So I know that both are rated by Apple as having the same battery life. However, I noticed that the CPU used by the low-end model is a 25 watt part, and the CPU used by the high end model is a 35 watt part.

Does that cause any difference in battery life in the real-world?

Probably but I'm sure it won't be much unless you're doing heavy CPU intensive stuff. Although higher wattage typically translates into more heat :D
