Hi all, quick question:
I am planning on adding a second HDD (non solid state) to my Macbook Pro (2011) by replacing my optical DVD drive with one, but am a bit concerned as to my laptop's battery life afterwards. I don't want it to be dramatically reduced of course. It would be nice if I could just eject it via disk utility (OSX), and then mount it whenever I need it, which theoretically would extend batt. life, I think.
My question is: When you eject an internal HDD via Disk Utility, does it save battery life on a laptop?
Curious as to whether or not if you "eject" an internal drive from your OS, does it actually spin down and sleep, thusly saving you power / battery life?
