Does anyone know of a battery life comparison that compares either two 15" uMBP or two 17" uMBP using a 2.8GHz and 3.06GHz CPU?

I would also like to know the difference between a 2.8 and a 3.06.
Some say they're practically imperceptible in daily use, then why do people actually pay more??

Because 3.06Ghz is a higher number than 2.80Ghz.
