Battery life expectations?

I was wondering what kind of battery life I should be getting from my TIbook 667 compared to what I am getting. Currently, I can't get through a full viewing of the Matrix read from my HDD with battery life set at longest life and screen brightness at dimmest (I was in the dark.) Obviously it's not new, so how much better battery life would I get if I purchased a new battery? Would I be able to get through a whole movie?
