I used to get 6-7 hours of battery life easily with 10.6.7... now with 10.7 i'm lucky to get 3 and a half...

i use gfxCardStatus to keep my mbp (17" early 2011) on the integrated GPU most of the time, maybe this doesn't work yet in the new OS?

anyone know why it's so bad? I can't get through a day anymore. This isn't good at all.

I'd love to find out, and see if there is a work around until it's fixed.

Have you updated gfxCardStatus to 2.1? That version adds Lion compatibility.

I checked, and yes I am on 2.1

It seems I'm not the only one with battery life problems; hopefully it's just a software thing they need to tweak. I can't even use my mbp for how long I need to anymore. should have waited to upgrade xP

There's a novice in every crowd. This time it's me.

Could you give me a quick instruction on how to check, and how to update?

Click the icon on the menu bar and click "check for updates" and then it should be easy from there :)
