Hi guys

I've noticed that everywhere I read about the improved battery life of the new Air
I) it just says "9-12-hours..." (Not "Up to xx% faster than previous"),
II) It is not mentioned if the increase in battery life has been measured in 10.8 or 10.9 and
III) I find it hard to believe that Mavericks would actually extend battery life to be even longer than 9-12?

Today, 9to5Mac claimed he saw a doubling of battery life when updating an old Macbook to 10.9.

Long story short: Could a lot of this claimed improvement in battery life be due to the tweaked ressource management of 10.9 and thereby applicable across the Macbook-line up once you upgrade? :)

Hardware for the moment, 2013 MacBook Air are still shipping with 10.8.4. Haswell, lower tdp and a slightly larger battery, all hardware attempts at increasing battery life.
Yet when 10.9 starts shipping, there should be a noticeable increase yet again, in battery life.

Battery capacities are actually identical to the 2012 model. The gain is all due to Haswell.
