Over the past week or so, the battery only seems to last about 2 hours. Usually my computer can be used and not charged for days of on and off use or about 5 hours of actual use.

I've not installed anything since this started and batter life reads as good. The computer does seem to run and reads higher than normal. Any suggestions as to what to look at that could cause this?

Have a look at Activity Monitor (Applications / Utilities /) and select All Processes and sort by CPU to see what the culprit may be.
Also check the "System Memory" tab to see what your "Page ins:", "Page outs:" and "Swap used:" are.

The dock is registering at 99%

Page ins read at 595.4 mb
page outs read 212kb

Does this help?
