I have a 2015 retina 15" with the 370x gpu. I replace the battery few months ago with a newer tech nu power one from owc. I had the battery at 100 percent and it was down 23 percent after watching a 30 min YouTube video and after and hour use is at 64 percent. is this normal or did I get a bad battery? coconut battery shows 9643mh as full capacity and 13 cycle.

Did you calibrate the battery? In any case, suggest do so again, and reset SMC.
This may not solve your issue, but you need to reset/calibrate to know where you are.

OK, well I don't know what is normal for a 2015 15" MBP. I suggest keep watching YT until it is down to ~10% and see how long it really lasts. Don't run the screen at 100%.

Based on this info your battery is defective, unless you have some other software running the background that's taking all your power. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the video you were watching was in 4K or 8K and it took a lot of power, but still losing 77% in 30 minutes is beyond awful. I would replace the battery.

I decided to update to Monterey with a clean install and so far it seems to be better. I need to do more testing I need some sleep. I’ll update within a few days if doing a clean install helped.

It didn’t lose 77 percent in 30 min it only Loss 23 percent. After I updated to Monterey it went from 23 to around 15 percent drop per 30 mins of youtube. I tested about 2 hours from 100 to 50 percent when watching YouTube at 1080p. So I should get around 4 hours but it still seems lower then before I changed the battery. Pretty sure I was getting 5-6 hours before. Using istat menu I see the system total wattage sits around 20-25 but spikes to 40 sometimes when watching YouTube. I’m using safari.

I also saw in fullscreen it uses more power then window and sometimes the dgpu has lower power usage then the integrate one.
