i'd say thats right on...actually pretty damn good. turn the wifi off and only use it when you know you in a wi-fi area and it will be even better. I hear wifi is the biggest battery hog.

My 2G battery was always fine. Just got the 3GS and the first charge lasted

Use - 4hr 20min
Standby - 4 Days 2 hours

This took it down to about 5%

Now on second charge and so far
Use - 2hr 18 mins
Standby 2 days 5 hours
Now at 49%

This has been with location services on and wifi on all the time. (second charge)

D

wtf i never even get close to that. I never get past 4 hours. But are any of those hours just playing the ipod?

Yeah...I think so...I was amazed with these numbers as well. Just wanted someone else's opinion on it :D

Thank you

I was amazed by the same results, settings are a little different than yours but generally the same and i get about 7 1/2 hours of charge before i hit 5 percent, which surprises me because i would only get 3 1/2 to 4 out of my 3g when i had it which amazes me how much different it carrys the charge.

I consistently hit the 20% marker like clockwork after 3 hrs of use on my black 32GB 3GS while connected to 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth enabled. I think my phone is defective because my girlfriend's white one gets 5+ hours at the same settings. I don't use the iPod, play games, use apps with push, or anything but send a few texts and talk on the phone. Anyone else getting extremely low batt life like this?

good to know im not the only one with 3-4 hours with battery life. I have 3G, bluetooth, push, fetch to off and still that life.

one day i hit 6 hours and i was so happy, then i realized i listened to ipod for 4 hours that day :(

im guessing this is not due to a defective phone and just something normal? if anyone have any insight, then please let me (us) know
