Hey, I just upgraded to the 13 Pro from a 6s and the battery life is certainly amazing in comparison… I made it almost 36 hours on a charge. Just wondering though… under battery in settings it shows a screen on time of under 4 hours, with safari accounting for the majority of the power usage. I was doing what I would call light web browsing so I’m a bit surprised that safari would be at the top of the list. Does this seem right?

If you spent a lot of time on this forum, that was probably the issue. There is some sort of bug related to ads that causes a CPU spike for a lot of people. You can check out this thread to learn more…

They did just implement a workaround that should help with the problem.

Safari is an energy hog. Your stats are correct.
Did you really need to go 36 hours before plugging it back in? Or was that just a test?
It’s a lot easier on the battery to do little partial charges when you get a chance than to run it down into the red zone

Wow, thanks! I was in fact on MR a decent amount, so that probably explains a good chunk of it. I need to do more testing to see how bad it is, but at home I use an ad-blocker DNS, so I wonder if it's as much an issue as when I'm out and about on cellular.

Crazy to me that it's THAT much of an energy hog, though. I swear I saw tests of the Pro staying on doing all sorts of stuff for like 8+ hours? Anyway, no, I don't usually let it run down all the way, it was more of a test than anything 😉
