I'm deciding between a rMPB 13 and a MBA. I'm almost convinced to buy the rMPB because I prefer the screen. Most of the time I won't need the better batterylife of the air except when I have to study in a library without a poweroutlet. Let's say I sit there from 10:00 to 20:00, with regular breaks. The brightness on 30/40% and running Safari (+- 20 tabs), Word and Spotify. Will the rMPB's battery last?

You'll get much better battery life with the MBA but you have to decide between power efficiency or a more powerful computer with a better screen.

I'm just wondering if the rMPB will last through the 10 hours of use

I'm able to get ~10 hours (maybe more) with the screen brightness at 50% or less running Safari, Pages & iPhoto all day. I don't know what adding a music streaming service would do, but I suspect the constant WiFi usage wouldn't be good. You don't have some other device or method for listening to music?

This is on a 15"
Realistically I'll probably only get ~9 hours
