I was wondering about the battery of a MacBook Air 2012 running Windows 7 vs Windows 8 in bootcamp.

In internet reviews I have read very mixed values for running Windows 7 (everything from 6h vs 6h30 when comparing Win to MaxOS down to 4h vs 7h). But I haven't read anything yet about Windows 8. So, first which review to believe more? The ones that border on 4h or the ones that border on 6h? And second, will the improvements in Windows 8 close the gap to MacOS runtimes?

If the MS blurb about Windows 8 is to be believed, battery life should be better than those figures. They claim it's less power and resource hungry than Windows 7. I don't have it myself, but will run some tests on a buddies Mac as he has just bootcamped his MBP.
