if I am running with the workout app open, music downloaded to the watch playing through my AirPods and GPS going...about how long will the battery last?

Thanks

From my experience (I use the same apps/stuff when I‘m jogging) an hour consumes about 15-20% of the battery

When I’m cycling, listening to podcasts on my watch with Overcast, I burn about 20% an hour. It’s about 30% if streaming the podcast over cellular.

Thank you both for your replies. i am a slow runner and currently have a Garmin 245. I want to run/walk a 1/2 marathon but need the battery to last at least 4 hours...I want the Apple watch for the other health apps...

I agree with the above, though I will say that on cellular, I get slightly worse results, though I am pretty sure that's because I'm in a marginal area, and the watch is likely looking for a signal a lot.

If you get a GPS only version or are ok with turning off the cellular, you should be fine. If, during your long runs in building up to the half, you see the battery isn't cutting it, you can do things like turning off the screen auto-wake to extend battery life even more.
