I wanted to see if anyone has similar statistics to me, or if my battery life while running is extreme.

I noticed that the last time I ran 13.1 miles the battery usage was about 80%.

Here's the setup:

Apple Watch 6 cellular
No iPhone present
Listening to podcast downloaded to watch
Nike Run Club tracking run

Started and battery was at about 90%, when finished it was at about 10% - run lasted about 2 hours.

Is this battery performance consistent with your experience?

That doesn't seem normal. My last half hour run used about 10% battery on Series 5. No cellular connection and not near iPhone. Played downloaded music and tracked with the Workout app.

If you have cellular enabled, you can try disabling it during your run as that could be draining your battery.

While I don't run for 2 hours, that does seem borderline normal (maybe SLIGHTLY high), extrapolating out from my 1 hour runs. I will say that I think it has a lot to do with how good the cellular signals are in the area you are in. I live in a fringe area for Sprint & my watch battery life while running/cycling (generally the two times that I'm out of range of my phone or wifi for long periods of time) has gotten significantly better since T Mobile bought them & started to improve the network.

I could see, maybe 30%, depending on use case (workout, podcast, maps, some other stuff running). I put the watch on at 9:00 did a run/hike + podcast, ballpark 75 minutes, and at 2:30 I'm at 81%. The base workout app, which I didn't use is even more battery friendly.

I think the prior poster is right, it's probably the cellular if you have the service. I have cellular but it's not enabled and it has no effect on battery life that I've noticed.

Thanks for all the feedback! Yes I have cellular active. I bet you it is the cellular that is using so much battery.

Cellular will kill your battery fast for sure. I ran a 6 hour 50k and had plenty of battery left with a S3 GPS model.
