I was just comparing iPhones on Apple's website and noticed that the iPhone 4S has about 100 hours less standby time than the 3GS and iPhone 4. Isn't it supposed to have a better battery life?

A non issue to me. 200 hours is something like eight days. If you're going to be away from your phone for eight days you should probably turn it off. And you're not going to get anywhere near 200 standby hours on a single charge if you'e using it daily.

It's due to software, not hardware. If you use your iPhone, iPhone 4S will get you better batter life than 4. If you leave it and do nothing for days on end, then iPhone 4 is better for you.

Totally agree. Couldn't have said it any better myself...

Do you really plan on letting your phone idle around for 200 hours of no use to get that number?
