Battery life

i am traveling to the states soon and was wondering how i can have as long battery life on one charge because on our plane to the states there is no option for power

i have an macbook pro

any advice or technique or something i can before i leave to improve battery life

Im sure there are more but,

Fresh restart
screen as dim as possible
backlit keyboard turned off
turn off any radios (wifi/bluetooth)

choose wisely on what programs you will be running
