I didn’t see another thread about battery life yet (sorry if I missed it). I know it’s only day 1, but so far I’m impressed. After about 9 hours of continuous use I’m at 5% now with about 7 hours of on screen time. As my usage normalizes I’m expecting to have at least like 30% battery life at the end of the day. This is on an 11 Pro, I imagine the Max and 11 non-pro will last even longer.

Battery life is noticeably far better than even the xs Max on the 11 pro itself. Phone is prolly still indexing anyways.

So battery life is phenomenal for me. Never even got this close with my X since day one. Needless to say, I am extremely pleased.
The screen on for 7 hours is due to google maps running with screen on for almost 3h

My 11P is brand new.. this is it’s first charge so will likely get better... came off charger at 6:30, it’s now 3:15. I added the bars and screen on usage of 3.5 hours since then.. been pushing it a bit..leaving Safari open and on... a few videos and short calls. Also a good bit of texting. I am at 60% remaining. That is XR level battery and it’s just the first charge.. Oh, I also installed 13.1 update. I am pretty happy with this and it will likely just get better.

Pro Max and I’m on 49% since I came off charge at 6:30am. Lots of usage while navigating around London this morning, lots of camera shots, about two hours worth of browsing the news and streaming today’s developments. I then streamed Spotify in the car for the two and a half hour drive home. Since getting back, spent a further hour browsing.

+15% more OLED power savings
+30-40% CPU/GPU power savings

compared to XS generation at lower performance.

Apple really packed a punch this time.
3,969 mAh vs 3174 mAh has nothing to do with better battery life.......Okay got it.

Update. Off charger at 6:30 AM. About 4.5 hours on-screen since then. It’s 7:40 PM and I have 45% left. This is first battery cycle and updated to 13.1 today. Very good IMO.

It’s 10:30 and I’m tired. Over 6 hours of on-screen, an iOS update and off charger since 6:30 AM. 25% remaining. And this is the first battery cycle.

bigger battery = better battery life........
I think the point we are making is that it is much more than we would expect with a marginal increase in size. Regardless, thanks for stating the obvious. You are indeed correct.

What really surprises me about battery life this year, is that both Pro models are better than the 11 model. Last year the XR had the best battery life of them all, this year it is 11-11 Pro- 11 Pro Max. Guess it should be that way, but just shows the massive improvement Apple made on the Pro models battery wise.

Results for each device are:
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max: 8 hours and 32 minutes
  • Huawei Mate 30 Pro: 8 hours and 13 minutes
  • iPhone 11 Pro: 6 hours and 42 minutes
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10+: 6 hours and 31 minutes
  • iPhone 11: 5 hours and 2 minutes
