Hey guys,

Feel like I'm going crazy because I keep having to charge my new M1 Macbook air 1TB 16gb, has anyone had similar problem.

Attached is my battery usage is this normal for general internet surfing? The time I took took the screenshot is 19:15.

I know nothing about computers so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
H

I'd say no, that doesn't look like casual surfing to me. Maybe with the display at 100 % brightness and watching 4K video on Netflix, but unless that's the case, it looks like something is running in the background, draining the battery. That or the battery is faulty.

You can check in Activity Monitor (open Spotlight, type "activity" and you'll see it), the tab in the middle called Energy, there's a list of apps that use the most energy.
Or in the first tab (CPU) you can sort the processes by % CPU or CPU time and see what's running. And on the bottom left there are three percentages shown, system/user/idle. With just a browser open on some plain website without a lot of video the Idle percentage should absolutely be more than 90 %.
