battery life

any advice on how to prolong the life of a battery? Know batteries are a bit pricey these days so I'm trying to find out how to get it to last. I only use my macbook at home so can still use if I remove battery and plug in adapter...or is it too much of a hasell to remove battery? What can I do?

You can try calibrating your battery,me i use my MBP as a desktop so mines plugged in 24/7 ( with battery in )
