When I woke up this morning my phone was dead. I forgot to plug it in so I assumed the battery died, however it was half full last time I used it yesterday evening. Anyway, I've had it plugged in for over an hour now and it's still just showing the same tiny sliver of red on the battery and the lightening bolt and the phone won't power up.

What gives?

If you have it plugged into your computer's USB it won't charge from dead. It must be plugged into the wall socket.

10.5.5 upgrade?

same happen to me this morning. I shut it off and came back later and redocked with iPhone shut down and it rebooted and all was fine.

Not sure if it was the 10.5.5 update or the 2.1 iPhone update

That did the trick. Actually I was using a griffen wall charger that has always worked before (never killed it dead before), but when I borrowed an apple charger it perked up within 5 minutes.

Thanks!
