I brought my MacBook Air 1 week ago and its already on 3 battery cycles, at what percentage shall I charge it from some say 20% but some say 40% and what percentage shall I charge it to because they say charging to 100 is bad for the battery can someone please help me

Just use the new Mac and don't fret.

The battery health management feature in macOS 10.15.5 is designed to improve your battery's lifespan by reducing the rate at which it chemically ages. The feature does this by monitoring your battery's temperature history and its charging patterns.

Based on the measurements that it collects, battery health management may reduce your battery's maximum charge when in this mode. This happens as needed to ensure that your battery charges to a level that's optimized for your usage—reducing wear on the battery, and slowing its chemical aging.

Congrats for your new Macbook. Last December I bought mine. As it was my first Macbook and it's a lot of money, I got a bit obsessed about battery, TBW and so on. Let me give a piece of advice. Don't let the hardware slave you. It's a great machine to enjoy, not to suffer for. Try not to store it long periods neither at100% nor below 10%.
Think that anything you do is not going to make a big difference.

I'm one of those users who only connects the charger when the MB NEEDS a charge.

I'll let it run down to, say, 40-45%.
Then I'll put it on the charger, right back up to 100%.
Then I'll disconnect the charger and let the battery run.
And so it goes...

I also power it off each and EVERY night.
Then reboot the next day when I need to use it again.
