I like the idea of the battery optimization feature but I'm now getting a battery optimization notification on my lock screen, even when I am in Do Not Disturb mode with all notifications disabled. Is their really no way to disable the battery optimization notifications without disabling battery optimization??? That seems like a very odd design decision.

You mean the notification that explains charging is paused at 80% until a certain time? I think that just shows up to allow you to resume charging if you should need your phone fully charged earlier than scheduled.

I don’t think there is an audible alert, correct? It just shows on the Lock Screen to allow you to override manually.

The “pause at 80% for a few hours before charging to 100%” battery optimization scheme isn’t going to change your future iPhone replacement schedule one bit. At best, using it (when it actually works) might bump up the battery health percentage points a couple digits years from now.

IMO it doesn’t matter what it’s for or if it has an audible alert or not. If I’m in DND mode and I have all notifications turned off I don’t want to see it. And it stays on the Lock Screen until you dismiss it. At the very least their should be a way to disable the notification just like other notifications.
Between this and the “Always On Display” that you can turn completely off but that you can’t actually set so that is actually always on (it actually is “always on” during the day when I don’t have it on my wireless charging stand but does turn off at night when it is on my wireless charging stand LOL…go figure) convinces me that the Apple folks literally never thought of the bedside “nightstand clock” as a use case. That is a shame because the AOD, if you actually could set it to be always on, is a perfect bedside “nightstand clock” when you have your phone in a wireless charging stand.

You are probably right and I will more than likely just turn it off due to the notification issue. But the fact that the notification pops up on the lock screen, and stays there until you dismiss it, even when you have all notifications disabled and are in DND mode with no way to disable this particular notification seems at best a strange oversight but of course that is JMO.

I disabled optimized charging and using 5W charger for overnight charging is way better solution for me.
I really don't like when service "signification location" continuously using location for this "optimization". btw. I disabled all those services except compas and automatic time zone, i guess that gonna save more of battery then optimized charging.

Agreed although some of the “features” are more annoying than others…🤣
You can't disable all shortcut notifications either. I don't care for the notification telling you shortcuts are enabled on your device when you first turn on the phone..

All I know is that when I’m in DND mode the only notification I have ever seen is this one about the battery. If I’m in DND and I have all notifications turned off…I expect to not see any…unless it’s a true emergency.
