So during my third charge of the iphone 6s plus I've noticed something weird. I started charging at 4% left and got back to my phone ten minutes later... it was still at 4% but after a few moments when I looked a second time it had jumped to 21%... I locked my phone again, got back to it a few minutes later and it suddenly says 13%... Since then one more jump from 13 to 16% and then back to 14%. After that it has been charging normally.

I've been googling this problem and have mainly gotten results about people's battery life decreasing by 2 or 3 percent at a time on ios 8 or about the battery being stuck at certain percentages during use... nothing about the above I described. Incidentally I also can go with about 20 minutes of SOT or more before my phone will go down from 100% to 99%, although I'm not sure if this is related with the charging problem..

Anyone having the same problems or know whether this is a software or hardware problem?

I've had a similar issue with my 6S.

There have been several instances where I'll unplug my phone when it's at, say, 90%, and put it in my pocket. I'll pull it out a few minutes later to check something, and it will show 92% battery (or something like that). So my battery %

You are leaving me hanging with that half finished reply :D

Anyway, my problem seems a bit different though.. because the phone is decharging as normal... at least the indicator acts normal when I am using my phone. It's just during charging that it acted strangely for the first 10 minutes.

Sorry, somehow it posted too early.

Well, our problems are pretty similar. Though my battery jump (increase) happens once the phone is unplugged, it's still similar. My battery % jumps up within seconds of unplugging. Perhaps, it does this at other points in the charging cycle but does it also whenever I unplug the phone.

Once it does it's initial jump as I pull it off the charger, the battery discharges as normal in normal increments.

I have 6s. My phone batteries % will not refresh unless I shut it down. It will say 50% but as once I shut down and turn it back on it will say 10% or so. I contact Apple and take my phone in, they said there's nothing wrong with my phone. I take a screen shots of my phone; show to them. Agent just ignore it and kind of push me away. I will go back again. Here's some example pics.

There is really nothing to worry about here.

Its just the battery meter recalculating itself on a minor delay.

Most people dont even use the percentage meter(i mean people not on this board)

My phone shuts down on its own and the low batteries warning never pops up and when I turn it back it will say 4% vs 50% or so.

If you charge back up from that technically you will recalibrate the battery and it will fix itself. Otherwise take it in and they will run diagnostics on your battery. I think others were having a smaller issue. Mostly jumps in smaller increments

I charged it at 11pm, 5 am it still said 2%. I'm just annoy I have to shut down my phone at least 2-3 times a day just to check batteries life so I won't be stranded when I need to use my phone;
And I probably use my phone no more than 2 hours a day.
This will be the 4th times contacting Apple with this issue.

I took my phone off the charger and it was showing 96%, which was strange. I sent a couple of SMS and switched the screen off, then turned it on 10 mins later and the battery was showing 100%.

Yeah that's definitely happened to me. Dont see this as an issue. But thought it was weird. Just the % recalcing

I have iPhone 6s, 1 month old. They reset my phone on Wed. Next day I still have the same problem. They will fix it if I still have problem. Sounds like they will have me reset my phone every time I call.

Mine has done similar. The battery gauge is not absolute and perfectly accurate. When it is getting as low as 10% it may not show that correctly while charging. Again it is nothing to worry about. Just plug it in before you go to bed and it will always be ready to go in the morning.

Apple has put a lot of technology in the iPhone so we do not need to worry and only use it.

Not sure where you are currently, but do you not have an apple store near you?
